Pets Welcome at St. John’s Independent Living Communities
At St. John’s, we understand that pets are a part of the family. That is why we maintain a pet friendly policy throughout our St. John’s Meadows and Brickstone by St. John’s independent living communities. Residents and staff have become accustomed to seeing pets around the building. The furry friends bring joy to everyone they encounter and are lovingly referred to as our mascots and official lobby greeters.
“It is a way that residents can stay connected to the parts that make them happy and the parts that keep them independent.”

Pet Policy
Our lease states that you may have one small animal; however, exceptions on size and number can be made on a case-to-case basis when speaking with our team. We want to ensure your pet is not a nuisance to your neighbor, you are picking up after your pet, and your feline or canine companion is in compliance with medical care and vaccinations. We simply ask for a $300 pet deposit. We do not require any pet rent.
“It is a really unique aspect that we have here. To have both pets on campus for residents and for staff.”
-Hannah De George
Accommodations
With your pet’s health and well-being in mind, we have designated a portion of our landscape to be free from chemical lawn treatment. For those living in our Bungalows, there is the option to decline lawn care treatment entirely.
The presence of pets throughout St. John’s communities has been a comfort to residents and staff throughout the pandemic and they will continue to spread cheer as St. John’s slowly returns to normalcy. For additional information on our pet policy or independent living options, please feel free to contact a community representative at 585-442-1300.
