St. John’s Highlights Its Innovations in Technology
St. John’s has been striving to be an innovative force in the older adult healthcare industry for 125 years. With our spectrum of services, devoted staff, and passion for embracing change — we pride ourselves on incorporating the newest technology that can benefit our residents, which is discussed in a recent Rochester Business Journal article.
“We are in a time of tech innovation,” says Jennifer Lesinski, St. John’s Vice President of Marketing. Lesinski spoke with RBJ‘s Caurie Putnam about St. John’s continuing partnership with the Thrive Alliance, a group of innovators and healthcare providers throughout the country working together to solve the challenges faced by the industry. This partnership allows St. John’s access to the newest technologies, like Rendever’s virtual reality programs.
“We have a great tech team here at St. John’s that recognizes technology impacts all of our work, and we are also very fortunate that our CFO recognizes technology requires investment,” says Lesinski.
Christine Curtis, a senior clinical informatics analyst for St. John’s Information Systems team, also contributed to the article. Curtis, who began working at St. John’s about six years ago, says she remembers when very few residents were using technology, but now that has changed.
“Everyone has computers, smartphones, tablets, and Alexas,” she says. “It has been fun to see residents changing with the times and supporting them with technology solutions while also being cognizant of security issues.”
Curtis says that St. John’s Information Systems team is excited to be incorporating new technologies and streamlining a new medical record system within the upcoming year to simplify workflow.
