St. John’s is celebrating the favorite places of residents throughout the Rochester/Finger Lakes region of New York State. Places We Know by Heart illustrates how St. John’s residents are able to remain engaged with and connected to locations that are important to them.

This video series highlights residents across the St. John’s spectrum of senior communities sharing their most beloved places. With each story, the connection between person and place continues to flourish.

St. John’s Meadows resident Pat Corcoran serves as President of the Friends of Mount Hope Cemetery, relying on 100 volunteers and hundreds of donors to help preserve a beautiful Victorian cemetery in Rochester, New York.

Doris Adamek has been a tour guide for most of her adult life. She continues to lead bus tours and other programming for fellow St. John’s independent living residents.

Jim Kelly worked for decades as the Plant Taxonomist for Monroe County (New York) Parks Department. The St. John’s Home resident takes you on our tour of his beloved Highland Park in Rocester.
