Embrace Living with Reva: Veterans Day Program at St. John’s
I was teary eyed and filled with pride as 75 veterans sat side by side and were honored by the staff of St. John’s.
After they were warmly welcomed by Community Life Specialist Kristine Mich and Vice President of Senior Housing Paul Bartlett, guests were served a lovely lunch prepared and served by our Briarwood Dinning Room staff. Entertainment was provided by the Brickstone Chorale, as they treated the crowd to a rousing patriotic medley and beautiful rendition of God Bless America.
The guest speaker was Brickstone resident Nancy Damore who told about her background and extensive activities. Her deepest satisfaction comes from her invovlement with area veterans– especially her efforts on behalf of the Honor Flight Rochester program, in which many of our veterans have participated.
Each veteran’s name and branch of service were recognized and each received a white carnation. This was followed by a meaningful closing prayer offered by our chaplain, Bradley Klug.
We at St. John’s Meadows and Brickstone are truly grateful for our veterans, and look forward to honoring them again next year.
