Resident Fitness Expert Shares Healthy Aging Tips

Brickstone by St. John’s resident Anita Spoor brought her years of fitness expertise to a special segment on Good Day Rochester for Senior Health and Fitness Day.

Anita, who has lived at St. John’s for over a year, leads a “Music and Movement” class every Thursday. With her decades of experience as a fitness instructor and gym manager at the University of Rochester, Anita knows just how important it is to stay active while we age.

She told hosts Dan Schrack and Abby Fridmann how vital it is to stay moving, pointing out that “you can even be sitting at home and still exercise.” Anita even demonstrated a few chair exercises on air.

Anita said that even though she has “aches and pains,” she always “goes through it and tries to stay as active as possible.”
